Guided by the core values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Courage, YES for PREP is a long-term investment strategy which begins by positioning the student for success. Through its annual Talent Search, YES for PREP identifies academically talented 7th grade students from underrepresented backgrounds and prepares them to successfully compete for entry into academically challenging college preparatory high schools. The YES for PREP curriculum is modeled on the proven PREP 9 curriculum of PREP for PREP in New York City.

The curriculum is delivered in four modules (quarters) over a 14-month period: Quarter I takes place over seven weeks during the summer between 7th and 8th grade; Quarters II and III take place on Saturdays and on Wednesday evenings during the 8th grade school year; and Quarter IV takes place over seven weeks during the summer between 8th and 9th grade. Quarter I is devoted to assessment, remediation of fundamental skills, and self-discovery. Quarter II-IV are devoted to mastery of advanced academic skills and concepts essential for success in a rigorous and challenging preparatory high school environment. Simultaneously, partnerships are developed with preparatory schools to encourage them to seek out YES for PREP graduates for 9th grade placement and scholarship opportunities. Our partner schools include:

When students graduate from the 14-month academic component of YES for PREP, they remain members of
the YES for PREP Community with full support and are expected to render services to the community. The YES for PREP team, comprised of administrators, highly qualified teachers, and academic counselors, targets students with the potential and determination to become future leaders. It combines the belief that talent deserves to be nurtured with a both-feet-on-the-ground realism regarding what needs to be done to enable a youngster to succeed. YES for PREP is sponsored by The Circle of 100.
